Meta Platforms, owner of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, has agreed to pay $725 million to settle a case alleging that the company shared or otherwise made accessible Facebook users’ (and their friends’) data without their permission. Class members—U.S.  users of Facebook between May 24, 2007, and Dec. 22, 2022—may be eligible for payment.

Claim deadline: Friday, 25 August 2023.
