How individuals can help Consumer Action

Dear friends,

I am proud to tell you that Consumer Action is entering its 40th year of service to the public.

Support Consumer Action

I still remember when we first started, a passionate group crowded together in a small basement in San Francisco. We founded the organization with the firm belief that consumers deserve a strong and resonant voice in the marketplace; that they deserve fairness and truth; and that they deserve to have all the tools they need to empower themselves financially.

Today, we are still fighting for this dream. The collapse of the U.S. economy these past two years has only made our work that much more important. Millions of consumers are struggling to make ends meet, stretch their dollars, find a job, keep their homes, and reduce burdensome debt. Consumer Action now works with more than 9,000 community-based organizations across the U.S. to help consumers achieve these goals by providing organizations in their area with free, up-to-date materials on subjects like basic budgeting and reducing credit card debt, and by training their staff on how to best teach financial literacy.

We also work hard to help and empower individual consumers through our national advice hotline, our family of free, education websites that offer consumers solid, practical information on everything from protecting your identity to understanding life insurance, and by fiercely advocating for consumer rights in Washington, D.C.

Here at Consumer Action, we are excited and inspired to tackle another 40 years of making a difference.

Please consider supporting our important work. Your donation is fully tax deductible. Click here to visit Consumer Action's donation page. Now you have a choice of how you would like to help, and which vendor to use to process your gift. Your debit or credit card can be used to donate via PayPal, Just Give or Network for Good.

Thank you for your help and support along this great journey.

Sincerely,

Ken McEldowney
Executive Director
