Privacy Information Project
Privacy-Information.org, a Consumer Action network site, promotes the idea of consumers’ fundamental right to personal privacy—of their personal information, financial data, online activities, whereabouts, communications, health and medical history, etc. Here, consumers and community-based organizations can access information and free materials on subject areas including:
- Knowing how to preserve their privacy while using the internet, social media and video streaming services
- Shopping online securely and guarding payment information
- Understanding medical privacy rights and how to exercise them
- Protecting phone records
- Understanding employees’ privacy rights at work
- Avoiding ID theft and other privacy-related crimes
Funding for the Privacy Information Project
Our efforts are funded through court awards and foundation grants.
