‘No Late Fee’ Fee

Blockbuster's tease in its come on below: "And there's more...." There sure is: After seven days..., "we will convert your rental to a sale" and charge your credit card the full price of the movie. To make the fine print even more confusing, some of the Blockbuster stores participate in the "No more late fees" program, others don't.

Blockbuster settled a lawsuit with 47 states over a year ago, but has continued its deceptive marketing campaign. One of the terms of the 2005 settlement was that BB would provide "a clear and conspicuous disclosure" of the hidden charges.
