Hostels getting swankier for cost-conscious travelers

The summer travel season is here, and like many people, you may be planning a getaway.
According to a survey released in May by Orbitz, the travel search engine, 77percent of people expect to take a summer vacation this year.
For anyone who is young and on a tight budget, one traditional way to save on travel is to stay at no-frills hostels. But if you think a hostel stay means piling into a shared room with five strangers, think again. While dorm rooms are still common, you can also find single and double private rooms, including some with en-suite baths.
