Myths, misperceptions about credit scores rampant

A poor credit score can make it hard to get a mortgage, a new car or a decent interest rate on a credit card. Yet 42% of those polled in a recent Visa survey never bother to check their score. By ignoring this vital measure of credit worthiness, consumers may be missing an opportunity to improve their score. And for many, failure to take any action could cost them thousands in higher interest payments.
